Today my life and Morgan's life was saved by our new neighbor Bryand.
This morning after finishing breakfast, Morgan pointed and said "Look, there's a spider!" We get a lot of little spiders with the skinny legs, kind of like Daddy long-legs, so I wasn't too concerned. As I looked up, however, there was a huge spider in the light fixture in our kitchen. It's body was about the size of a quarter. So, I freaked out a bit. I didn't want to leave the kitchen in case it got out in the house...I would go crazy I didn't know where that thing went. So, I sprayed the ceiling above the light fixture with bug spray in hopes that it would drip down and kill the spider. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. None of the med school husbands were home, so I ran to my next door neighbor and asked if he could get it out.
As he was getting the light fixture off, bug spray was dripping on his arm and asks "what is on the ceiling?!" So, I told him I had sprayed a ton of bug spray up there. Whoops... my intent was definitely not to kill my neighbor with the bug spray. So, he took it down and quickly brought it outside where the spider ran into a crack in the sidewalk, but not without me spraying it with some more insecticide first.
Despite Mike's scoffs about how the spider wasn't all that I made it out to be, I contend that it was a huge spider! The pictures just don't do it justice, especially since I took the picture through the light fixture.
Thanks Bryand for saving us today!
