The End of Boards...for now

Mike has worked so hard these first two years of medical school. Two years of intense classes, studying board prep books, countless hours in labs, exams, and so much more all leading up to his first set of boards this summer. After three months of almost nonstop studying Mike took his boards this week. He would wake up and start studying around 6:45 a.m. and stop studying around 11 p.m. for three months straight. So, after taking his boards we decided it was high time to celebrate!

We decided to try Joe's Crab Shack here in West Des Moines and boy did it not disappoint. If you like seafood, more importantly crab, then you will like this place. The food was great and best of all afterwards we went for a walk and there was no need to worry about studying!

We found a duck and ducklings at the pond and they were so cute. Morgan was able to sit on a rock and just watch them on the little beach. It was a nice night and Mike was pretty happy to be done.

So proud of you Mike! You worked so hard and your hard work has paid off. Now it's time for rotations!

Also, the picture above is his board beard in all it's glory. :) He shaved it two days later.

do you know where you're going for rotations?

We'll be here mostly for rotations, but go to Washington in october. In two years when mike graduates we'll be in residency somewhere. He's not sure what kind of doctor he wants to be yet,so he'll figure that out while he works in different specialities during rotations.
