Canada Day/Fourth of July

My favorite Canadian

We have two kinds of citizens living under our roof, Canadian and U.S. We are so grateful to have grown up in countries where we have the freedoms that we do. Many have sacrificed for those freedoms and I hope that we never take them for granted.

We went to the Waukee Fourth of July parade with our friends the Coombs, minus our husbands because they were studying like maniacs for boards. Like most Iowa parades it featured a lot of pick-up trucks and tractors. It was fun and the kids got pocketfuls of candy! Afterwards the kids wanted to go to the bouncy houses and they got to go through once.

Later that night we sat in our backyard and watched the fireworks with our friends and the kids got to do sparklers which are my favorite!
