Chicago

Last Wednesday we got to go to Chicago for a few days with our friends and their two kids. It was a blast, aside from unforeseen illnesses. :) We saw so much and yet there is a ton more to see in Chicago. We decided to make the trip a little more medical school budget friendly, so we scoped out all the free stuff to see online and went to those places. Here are some pictures from our trip. They are backwards, but you get the idea.

Saturday: Mike finally got his long-awaited Chicago style pizza! He was so happy! :)
Everyone getting ready to enjoy their pizza.
Friday: Exhausted from a long day of fun. In the background is Buckingham fountain. They have fountain shows at night, but it was such a long day that we couldn't wait that long.
Friday: There were a ton of people there snacking their way through the different kinds of foods that Chicago has to offer.
Friday: Memorial Park.
Friday: Memorial park, under the cloud gate.
Friday: Cloud gate.
Friday: Crown Fountain.
Friday: Lincoln Park Zoo. It was fun. They had a lot of cool exhibits and best of all it's free!
Thursday: Mike's Chicago dog. Again, very happy.
Thursday: Children's Museum. It was awesome! They had so many fun things for the kids to do.
Thursday: Children's Museum. Don't mind the lady photo bombing in the background... it would have been a good picture.
Thursday: At the Children's Museum they had this room full of stations where the kids could pretend to make all kinds of food from pizza, stir fry, french fries, and ice cream.

Thursday: We went to our first MLB game, the Chicago Cubs! They lost, but it ended up being an exciting game at the end.
Thursday: Wrigley stadium. Across the street from the stadium they had stadium seating on tops of apartment buildings! Pretty crazy.

Thursday: Us in front of Wrigley Stadium.
Wednesday: On Wednesday night they had fireworks at Navy Pier. It was so fun but it ended up being a late night for all of us because of the subway ride back to the hotel.
Wednesday: Navy Pier at night.
Wednesday: Navy Pier had fun rides.
Wednesday: Finally we made it to Navy Pier. It was a long walk to get there.
Wednesday: On our walk to Navy Pier we walked by the Chicago theater.
Wednesday: After leaving the hotel and arriving downtown Chicago we got lost looking for the Navy Pier. We ended up walking about a mile in the wrong direction and ended up walking back the same way. We definitely got our exercise! We tried finding a place to eat but most of the restaurants were closed around 5 or 6.

Wow you guys did more in a few days than we did in four years of living there! You got some great pictures! I love the ones of Navy Pier at night.
