Last weekend we went to the Adel Corn festival here in Iowa. Adel is a small town that has celebrated this festival for over 30 years. We decided to experience Iowa to the fullest and head on over there!
First they had a "parade" comprised mostly of tractors and people's pick-up trucks, but hey, they were throwing out candy so we didn't mind!

Morgan realized that waving=candy, in most cases anyway.

She was so excited to get that tootsie roll!

After the parade they gave away free sweet corn, and as much as you can eat! It came off of a semi truck in crates and went through a cooker...

...into the "trough" :)

...and into our bellies! :)

Morgan with her friends Cole and Kaleb. They are pretending to be superheroes.

After we ate corn we went and watched a firefighter version of tug-of-war where they spray the bucket with the hose to get it to the other person's side. The kids loved it and loved getting soaked.

Here they are watching the adult firefighters with the real hoses. It was such a fun day.

You gotta love Iowa festivals! They're always lots of fun, no matter how small they are!
